Update 10:39am: Press Conference (Mitch Landrieu’s Office) confirmed Precautionary Boil Advisory until further notice for Eastbank of Orleans Parish.

Dixon and Uptown Families:

The media alerted our community of a precautionary boil advisory. We want to let you know of the steps we are taking.

Here is what we know: “The Sewerage & Water Board has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for the East bank of New Orleans, due to a drop in water pressure.” This does not affect our Westbank Campus. The RSD sent official notification of this precaution to schools at 9:08am. Before this notification, as a precaution, our Head of School had ordered the following for the affected campuses:

  1. ISL will restrict the use of all water fountains at Dixon and Uptown Campuses
  2. ISL teachers and staff will use hand sanitizer instead of washing hands with soap and water
  3. ISL will coordinate the purchase of bottled water with our Facilities department to provide at Dixon and Uptown campuses
  4. Five Gallon water dispensers with filtered water will be available for the P.E. classes

This boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice. We will update you if there is a change in status or additional information.

Students and staff are safe and all classes are in session.

Dixon Families:

Drop Off Rerouting- This morning, at 7:45am, the fire alarm was triggered. Based on information by the company responsible for maintenance of the system, it was due to pending reprogramming. The company was on campus this morning at the time the alarm sounded and was able to respond immediately. However, there was a delay in silencing the alarm as access to the panel requires ISL and the company to access simultaneously. They are working on the system to ensure quicker access in the future.

The fire department responded immediately and assisted in our fire drill procedures to ensure safety. All students were in designated fire drill formations. Students were guided to their classroom by their teachers and staff and the day began as usual at regular start time.
