Office Hours (M, T, W, Th, F) from 8:00am - 4:00pm*
*Office is closed during the 30 minutes prior to dismissal

Breakfast at Dixon
Breakfast is served between 7:45am and 7:55am.
- At 7:45am, students arriving through Carpool line may proceed to the cafeteria for breakfast. Breakfast is served until 7:55am.
*If your student utilizes the van services, parents must notify the van service that students may not be dropped off for breakfast prior to 7:45am or left unattended at the gate.

Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures
- The Marks Street entrance will be closed during Morning Drop Off.
- Walkers will enter using the Peach Street or General Ogden Gate. This gate closes at 8:00am.
- The Carpool Line will remain on General Ogden Street. This gate closes at 8:00am.
- The Eagle Street Gate will open for Early Bird at 7:15am. This gate closes at 7:45am.

Morning Drop Off
The Dixon Campus opens its gates at 7:45am. Families/caregivers may make use of a carpool line.
- Enter at Eagle Street, turn left on Peach Street, right on General Ogden.
- Drop off will be on General Ogden Street and makes the block around Dixon Campus as a one-way.
- Staff and family/caregiver volunteers are available each morning to open car doors and welcome your student to school.
- Drivers in the drop off line must pull up curbside and never stop and let children out from the left hand lane.
- Many families prefer to park in the neighborhood and walk their students to the gate. This is welcome during drop off as well.
- The gates close promptly at 8:00am.
- Students arriving late to school (after 8:00am) must be accompanied by a guardian/caretaker to the front office. Enter through the main doors on Eagle Street and proceed to the front office to receive a tardy slip.

Afternoon Dismissal
Students are dismissed from the blacktop Monday through Friday.
- On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, dismissal is at 3:30pm.*
- The afternoon pick up entrances are on General Ogden Street, Peach Street, and Marks Street (Gate 2).
- Wednesday dismissal is at 2:30pm.*
- After Care Programs (Community Works and Primetime) will share the Marks Street gate 1 during After Care pick up. Please note that there are two entrance gates on Marks Street. The gate closest to the building (Gate 2) will be used for Primetime pickup only. The gate leading to the building (Gate 1) will be used for Community Works pickup. Gates will close at 5:30pm for After School dismissal. All families/caregivers and/or individuals authorized to pick up students from After Care (Community Works and Primetime) will be REQUIRED to present ID daily in order to be admitted to the building for pick up.
*Students will NOT be released early from school within 30 minutes of dismissal time. Students that are on campus 15 minutes after dismissal times will be placed in Primetime for the afternoon and charged.

Indoor Dismissal
On certain days we may need to dismiss students from their classrooms. The most common reason is when we are experiencing extreme weather or rain.
If the temperature drops below 40 degrees, or rises above 95 degrees, or it is raining, we will suspend outdoor activities including blacktop dismissal and dismiss from inside the classrooms.

Visiting and Volunteering on Campus
The volunteer application process will reopen on January 3, 2024. The deadline to apply is February 29, 2024.
Visitor and Volunteer Screening and Application Process
Understanding Visitor/Volunteer/Chaperone Volunteer
If you are interested in visiting the campus or volunteering, please contact your Campus Family Liaison.
For the safety of our students and our campus, ISL has implemented a Visitor Screening and Volunteer Application Process. Visitors must be screened through the National Registry of Sex Offenders. For detailed procedures, reach out via email. Please allow 48 hours response time.

Our Volunteer Application process is currently open, families can visit our campus after completing a screening. To Volunteer or Chaperone volunteer please fill out the Volunteer Interest Form.

Chaperone Volunteers are required to complete additional steps, including the Mandatory Reporter Training and a Background Check. The deadline to apply to Chaperone volunteer is September 30, 2023. Please discuss this with your Family Liaisons to determine which steps must be completed in order to volunteer.
Ready to apply to become a Chaperone Volunteer?
Step 1: Fill out the volunteer interest form
Step 2: Complete the Mandatory Reporter Training.
Step 3: After completing the Mandatory Reporter Training, email your certificate to volunteerdocs@isl-edu.org.
Step 4: Complete the Chaperone Volunteer Application. This will be emailed after we have received your certificate of completion.
All Chaperone Volunteers must complete a Background check. More information can be found here:

Celebrating your Student's Birthday at School
Your student's birthday is a very exciting day. We understand that everyone celebrates differently. For this reason, please adhere to the following:
- Submit an email request to the teacher and cc Ms. Barbara Sanders in the front office at least 72 hours prior to the requested day.
- Please bring all supplied needed (i.e., plates, napkins, utensils).
- We cannot provide supplies.
- If you do not wish for your student to attend birthday celebrations, please inform the teacher, and other arrangements will be made.

Lunch on Campus
The ISL Food Services Department strives to promote a healthy lifestyle for our students with an emphasis on healthy eating.
Items NOT ALLOWED in the cafeteria:
- Carbonated beverages
- Competitive food items from outside restaurants
Outside items ALLOWED in the cafeteria:
- Milk, water, and 100% juice products during student meal time for all grade levels
Allowed, but limited:
- Families/caregivers are encouraged to limit the frequency of cakes, cookies, cupcakes, candy, and other high sugar, high fat foods and to increase the number of whole grains and fresh fruits provided in lunch bags and snacks from home. This includes guests who are eating in the cafeteria with students.
